Cijay is not only a manager and mentor to me, he is a selfless soul always looking for ways to help others and add value wherever he can, putting monetary and personal gains aside. Never have I heard him ask the dreaded question, “What’s in it for me?”
I first got to know Cijay about 5 years ago when I attended a course at Zest Academy where he was one of the trainers. It was then that I realised, I was completely doing all the wrong things in the few short months that I embarked on real estate as a career. Cijay was never afraid to share what has worked for him and his team of agents – in other words, his trade secrets. He was genuine and sincere to help those who came to him for help and mentorship.
After the course, I did just that. I met with him 1 to 1 and explained my plight. I had come into real estate after a failed business and had accumulated business debts in the six figure sum. I told him that I do not have time to go through trial and error as I was more importantly, also a sole breadwinner. At that point, even though he was not my manager, he sacrificed his time and agreed to meet me 7.30am Mondays to Fridays to guide me through what I should be doing. He never spoonfeeds but would expect your total commitment and participation in exchange for his time.
I followed his processes and grew steadily into the business and finally paid off all my business debts. Again I stress, as he was not my manager, there was no over riding interest for him as he saw me grow. Never once has he not answered my calls. Never once he got bored or irritated with my stupid questions. He was always there throughout.
As I saw the true leader in him, he became an inspiration to me. There is no better person I can emulate in order to be a true leader. Such selfless, bubbly and full of zest character. His energy is contagious.
I joined him in late 2013 and that was the best ever decision I’ve made. I’ve never looked back since.
