Private homes sales by developers (July 2015)

The private housing market regained some momentum last month as buyers snapped up units amid a larger number of new units launched, following a lull in June when buyers held off buying and developers held back new offerings to avoid the school holidays. Sales jumped more than 300 per cent from June, as developers sold a total of 1,594 units, up from 375 sold in the previous month...

HDB resale prices fell again as tighter mortgage curbs continue to cool demand. According to data from HDB, resale prices fell 0.4 per cent to 135.0 points — the eighth consecutive quarter of decline. This continued decline comes after a 0.7 per cent and 6.2 per cent contraction in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Transaction volumes slowed further in June as property developers sold just 375 new private homes last month (excluding ECs), down from the 638 units (or 40 per cent) sold in May — latest data from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) showed today. The lacklustre sales came as developers launched just 219 new units, the lowest in the year so far...
